Unfortunately many liberal donators in 1954 have chosen not to include the Hospi tal among their charities this year* Noteworthy is the list of new contiibu- tors this year© Hospital officials are aware that there are many demands made of our part time res idents - all for worthy causeso Nevertheless the Hospital^s deficit must (con't, page 4) TOWER ADDED TO METHODIST CHURCH A new landmark has been added in the town of Highlands* On Thursday of last week the top spire of the tower on the Hi^ lands Methodist Church was hoisted into place by the Conway Construction Company of Greenville, SoC, Plans for the graceful tower were drawn by Mr« Upton C, Ewing, architect, and George Clevelandr Fred Hopper, Leon Potts and Clyde Hopper were in charge of the con struction, Hie tower blends with the ex terior of the entire building, making it an outstanding example of modern colonial architectureo The remaining work on the building con sists of completing the memorial chapel, to be known as the Smith-Tillett Memorial Chapel. This work is scheduled to begin in the,near future. Artistically arranged gladioli decorated both rooms* In the liv ing room there was also a great, branching spray of copper beach in a bronze Chinese planter^ Thru the picture windows in the living room you looked across perfectly landscaped grounds, whose curves suggested those of the distant mountain rangeso About 85 men and women attended the tea* Quite a few who could not come are sending their contributions to the Hudson Library, Money contributed at the tea came to $210# To the chairman, Mrso Arthur Bliss, high credit is dup for the thoughtful planning and carrying out of all the arrangements for a perfect tea. Mrs.* Harold Cooledge was the most charming of hostesses.
